Dear chris,

I came back from a hard walk down to the grass market to find that you had put cups of water all around my room, and writen on my door “revenge kenny” with tooth paste.

This was a mild inconvenience.

So upon finding this we at 18/3 started plotting on how to return the favour.
So i put it to you Chris.

I WANT TO PLAY A GAME.

As you can see from the following photo I have taken your door handle and the 4 screws to hold it ont the door.
I have also taken all the cups of water from my room and placed them outside your room, following this I took the water which we used to clean the tooth paste off my door and filled some of the cups with it.

In several of these cups are hidden the 4 screws.

My game to you is you must drink EVERY cup of water/toothpaste to then find the 4 screws. You may be thinking you can just empty them out and find the screws that way rather than drinking them. However unless you actually drink them ALL, I will not give you the clue as to where your door handle is hidden.

The choice is your Chris…

Eid al Ghadeer

We have now on this night, officially entered the final, 12th month of the Islamic calendar, Dhil hijjah, the month of the 2 Eids and the month of the hajj.

Eid al Ghadeer, celebrated on the 18th of this month, is a special time of year for it is something unique and special to the family of Muhammad (s), celebrated rarely by the rest of the ummah.

This is one of the final days of celebration in the year before the mourning commences in Muharram of Imam al Hussain (a).

This is why Eid al Ghadeer can be a good time to restore your iman, recharge your devotion and to get back into the habits of doing good deeds you haven’t done since by now, probably Ramadhan. Use the day of Ghadeer as a way to prepare you for the mourning of Hussain (a), to cry sincere tears and to be a righteous believer.

On the day of Ghadeer, it is recommended to;

Perform ghusl/have a bath

Wear beautiful and new clothes.

Fast. Fasting on this day is equivalent to fasting one’s entire life. You will be rewarded with the equivalent of 100 hajj and 100 umra, for it is the greatest Eid (Imam Ja’far)

Give charity, your wealth spent in the way of Allah is multiplied by 1,000. (Imam Ali)

Providing food for a single believer on this day to break their fast with is like being with 100,000 prophets, righteous persons and martyrs. Providing for a group will protect you from losing your faith or being struck by poverty.

Lending money will protect you from the great calamities.

Greet each other with salams and by saying “Alhamdulillah alathee ja’lna minal mutamasakeena bi wilayat Amirul Mu’minin wa A’Imamatu alayhim as salam.” (All praise to Allah who blessed us with the authority and guardianship of Amirul Mu’minin (Ali) and the Imams (a).)

Recite the Ziyarat of Imam Ali (a)

Pray 2 raka’ with surah qadr and surah ikhlas after the fatiha’s.

Read the duas of Ghadeer.

What happened at Ghadeer?

At a place not far from Mecca after the farewell Hajj, Allah revealed the verse;

O Messenger, announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people. 5/67

The question arises is that what is so important for the messenger (s) to announce that without it, he has not conveyed the message at all? What was it that was such an important yet dangerous affair that Allah had to guarantee protection from the disbelievers? The event of Ghadeer was some 60 days or so before the Prophet (s) had died. The Muslims had believed in Allah and the messenger, they had established prayer, they had paid the zakat, they performed the hajj, they would fast, what was left? Why would Allah tell the Prophet (s) to deliver one more part of Islam that without it - the whole religion is incomplete?

It is here where Prophet Muhammad (s) declared, in short

Do I not have more right [awla] over the believers than what they have over themselves? (referring to verse 33/6)

The people replied in the affirmative.

Then, for whomsoever Allah and his messenger are the masters of [mawla, some narrations use the word wali] then this Ali is his master [mawla/wali]!

Oh Allah, befriend those who befriend Ali, be an enemy of those who are an enemy to him!

The important revelation that was to be announced based on verse 5/67 was none other than Ali’s (a) divine appointment.

Along with this, the Prophet (s) mentioned many, many other important things. He emphasised the 2 successors and weighty things;

I leave behind for you 2 precious [other narrations say successors (khalifatayn)] things, the book of Allah, a rope stretched from the heavens and my family, my ahlul bayt. They will never separate from one another until they come together at the pond.

These main 2 points of the sermon of Ghadeer have indeed been authenticated and accepted by many Sunni authorities which can be read very clearly here which explicitly show Ali (a) as the first appointed caliph.

The second part mentioned above can be thoroughly investigated and read here from authenticated Sunni sources.

Allah then revealed the final verse to the world, completing Islam forever and perfecting the religion with the appointment of Ali (a) as the successor and guardian of all the Muslims

This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. 5/3

And it is for this reason that this is the greatest Eid, as it is the celebration of the final verse of the Qur’an which perfected Islam by appointing Ali (a) as the immediate successor to the Prophet Muhammad (s).
